Ricardo Muñoz, Jr., MD, F.A.C.O.G.

Dr. Ricardo Munoz, Jr. began his medical career over 20 years ago upon completion of his Medical Degree at Meharry Medical College, Nashville, Tennessee, in 1979. He completed his internship and residency years at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio in 1984. Prior to medical school, Dr. Munoz received his BA in Biology and Psychology from Incarnate Word College, San Antonio, Texas in May of 1975.

He currently serves as Clinical Associate Professor, School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Munoz also serves as Clinical Obstetrics Faculty to the Family Practice Residency Program at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital, San Antonio, Texas. He is the vice-president of Riverwalk OB/GYN, P.L.L.C. He received board certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1987 and was recertified in 1996. He is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Dr. Munoz distinguished military career included assignments in Germany, Korea, and Panama and as Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Fort Hood, Texas. Prior to joining Riverwalk OB-GYN, P.L.L.C., in 1994, Dr. Munoz was had a private practice in Copperas Cove, Texas from 1988 to 1991 and then locally with San Antonio Center for Women's Health from 1992 to 1993.

Dr. Munoz is affiliated with the Nix Health Care System in San Antonio, Texas and is a past President of the Medical Staff. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Nix OB/GYN Department; he is also a member of the Medical Staff at Baptist Healthcare System, Christus Santa Rosa Hospital, and Metropolitan Methodist Hospital. Active in the San Antonio community, Dr. Munoz is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Bexar County Medical Society, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, TEXPAC/AMPAC 300 club, the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is also a delegate to the Texas Medical Association.

Dr. Munoz enjoys spending time with his wife, Laura, and their three children. His hobbies are hiking, camping, reading, and gardening.
