Cristina P. Carreño Simpson, MD, F.A.C.O.G.

Dr. Simpson completed her residency training in June 2000 at the University of Texas Health Science Center. She graduated and received her Medical Degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in 1996 and was awarded the Outstanding Hispanic Medical Student.

Dr. Simpson worked as a physical therapist after graduating from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. Prior to that, she graduated from Austin College in Sherman, Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology.

Dr. Simpson is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Simpson is also a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of Texas Medical Association, Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Bexar County Medical Society, San Antonio OB-GYN Society, American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Simpson currently is a member of the Medical Staff at Nix Healthcare System, Baptist Healthcare, and Christus Santa Rosa Hospital.

Her husband Blake, a physician, works as an Otolaryngologist at the University of Texas. Health Science Center in San Antonio, he specializes in disorders of the voice. They are the proud parents of identical twin daughters.

Dr. Simpson's hobbies include spending time with her family, hiking, outdoor activities and traveling. She joined Riverwalk OB-GYN, PLLC in August 2000.
